Progress pics of Sir Vitus' banner from my trade stuff with me for banners thread.
My faithful canine assistant looks on from the living room as we begin.
Several hours later I start filling the house with noxious fumes.
My assistant falls asleep.
Eventually, we near the end.
All that's left now color wise is some shading. Then the cutting and sewing parts. This one is as big as I can currently make, coming in at 42ish inches wide and just under 8 feet in length.

Beautiful, Isabella. Just too nice for words. Great work. Things like banners pole-vault the appearance of events. A few of those on a field or at an encampent is simply a beautification multiplier.

I use Dye-na-flow brand silk paint which I get from Dharma Trading Co. Specifically the Brilliant Red. It's the reddest red they carry. The other one is too orangey.
Eventually I will find some time to make banners for myself and my group. I keep saying 'before Estrella this year!' but that never happens. hehe

My doggie's name is Brutus. My husband wanted a good guard dog, so he got a manly doggie name. He is a big softie though.
I tried to get the angry goat to look as much like the pic you sent as possible. I dunno if he has a name or not. Maybe he should.
I forgot to mention that with that brand of silk paints if you add a little bit of water it seems to dry a little slower and flow better. On some colors it helps reduce streakiness. The cerulean blue and the green I use are the worst culprits.
I wish I could have made it longer but it was backbreaking to make as it is. Too wide to lean across so I kept having to move it around doing one half at a time. My kingdom for a larger work space!
I think so. By Sunday at least. I wasn't paying too much attention but it looked like the front was zipping past pretty quickly. You might get some of that wet stuff too.
Dang. I was hoping it would be nice. This weekend is the harley run so the potential for chaos is already there. I don't want to be out on the highway all weekend.
I have at least a couple hours of work left anyhow. But skies are blue right now, hope it holds out so I can get some good pics.
Thanks. I think it's just a matter of when you practice a craft you see a steady progression of learning and whatnot. I've done a lot of them and I am still finding little ways to make them better.
