Japanese sword quench

Post by raito »

A friend just sent this one to me:

For any who may have doubted the degree of stress inherent in a Japanese blade.

Particularly note that the blade is straight before the quench, and that it curves toward the blade before curving toward the back during the quench.

it was interesting to watch the blade first warp to the edge,& then pull back to the spine
