Just kidding. Brother amos, is awesome times ten. And he tent pegs people with his cruicifix pole weapon, so I'll shut up now.

Corby, did you know that when you buy something from SM, a very small portion of the proceeds is returned to the artist? They don't really make much, but they can get their SM fees paid for, or offset the expense of publishing.

I suggest the coffee mugs, one for each member of your house who is lucky enough to be captured by Skorris, Ursus, or another SmugMug artist.

Nice work, Skorri. :D

Excellent event. Thanks to all who took part and even more importantly, those who ran it.

As usual, I took way too many pictures and I'm working hard on them. I hope to upload a bunch this weekend. I'll post here when I do.

Thanks for all the compliments. I have a Canon Rebel XT. The sun cooperated at the event, that along with a very nice zoom lens helped me out quite a bit.

Amos made it to the finals of Sapphire? Awesome!!!

Can't say that I'm at all surprised given our fights in the finals of Storvik Unbelted last year and how he was smiting me with that Holy Hammer of his in melees recently (like at Tournament of Love and Beauty...)!

Wish I could've been there (though Dad's 70th, naturally had to take precedence)... Congrats, Amos!!!

One Cool Move

Post by Donal Mac Ruiseart »

Just about his coolest move was during the St. Aiden Tourney.

He was mixing it up at close quarters with his hammer, and managed to draw his sword and smite his opponent with a left-handed reverse-grip blow.
By reverse grip I mean that he was holding the sword in a grip like a dagger, with the blade downward (i.e., extending from the pinkie side rather than the index-finger side of his hand).

The semi's were:
Sir Brian of Sacred Stone (Damuth) vs. Sir William Thomas
Sir Corby de la Flamme vs. Brother Amos the Pious

Sir Brian faced Brother Amos in the finals, with the victory going to Sir Brian who recieved the Ruby Prize for his efforts.

Sir Corby was awarded the Sapphire Chivalry Prize.

In the rapier list Lord Domynik faced Lord Dante. Lord Domynik who had just that morning received his White Scarf, defeated Lord Dante.

Baron Jean Claude of Tir-Y-Don recieved the Sapphire Rapier Prize.

Other tourney results:
Novice Tourney: Wilhem of Blud (from Nothinghill Coill I believe) who defeated Brother Augustine in the finals.
Rose Tourney: Sir Brian and Lord Felix of Kappennberg tied for points.
St. Aiden Mellee: Caer Mear. (woot!)

As the recipient of said blow, yes, yes it was very cool. He had tied up my spear, so I dropped it and was wresting his pole-cross from him when he drew it and smote me mightily. It was brilliant and goes on my list as one of my favorite fights, even though I was the "other guy" in his highlight reel that day. :)

More coming from Sunday, although not as many.

Here's a few samples:

Baron Sean versus Sir Falcone.

Sir William Thomas versus Jonathon Blackbow.

Count Sinclair Hawkins versus Duke Ragnarr Blackhammer.

The finals: Sir Bryan versus Brother Amos.

And a Court shot. Seated from left: Her Highness Princess Kalisa, His Highness Prince Vladimir, Her Majesty Queen Esa, His Majesty King Logan, Baroness Melisent of Caer Maer and standing on far right... umm, I forget.

Oh Yeah! Baron Bryce de Byram of Caer Maer (the hosting Barony).

And a good time was had by all.

Hope you enjoy the pics.

Sir William and Blackbow are fighting in that picture?

All I see is Dante's spiffy new blue and gold dayshade, and the two cool benches he built.
