WTB/WTK: Pollax

So who makes good ones? AA is a bit out of my price range and Windlass one have a tendency to break. Anything in the middle?

Not really. The only one I can think of might be the Cold Steel poll axe, but that is not very historically accurate. Should be sturdy, though. There also might be a European manufacturer of poll axes similar to the A&A one, but cheaper. Alas, I lost most of my links recently and cannot recall where I saw it.

Out of curiosity, what *is* your price range? While the A&A Knightly Poll Axe is pricy, their Burgundian one is $200 cheaper. Granted, $390 before shipping is not really cheap, but you do get what you pay for.

Earlier this year I bought a previously owned A&A Knightly pollaxe, and am quite pleased with it. Very well made.

looking for something between 150-300 range.

While A&A isn't bankbreaking, I'd like to see some alternatives.

Does anyone have experience with these guys?:

http://www.coldsteel.com/poaxecl.html This is what you want :D. Its on closeout sale too.

I bought one and after a bit of sanding on the wood the head slips on fine. It comes with metal reinforcement plates/screws etc.

Very strong. I've used the hammer head to crack through road signs, axe to cut trees etc. Real strong construction.

CA/Hanwei sells just a head for around $50, then you can put your own pole on it made the way you want it

I have opinions of my own- strong opinions- but I don't always agree with them.

I have one of these too. I can vouch for the fact that it's an utter beast of a weapon.

I just bought one of these from Age of Chivalry this weekend for $65- seems very nicely made, can't speak to its durability since I haven't mounted it on the haft yet, much less used it.

That appears to be the same one Age of Chivalry carries.
