Thank you all for the views and bumps. I wrestled with this for quite some time. Alas, a trade deal has been struck, and this helm is no longer for sale.

Re: FS: Knotwolf, not sure I want to sell...
Going to bump this for the holiday. I feel like this helm needs to see more battle than I can give it, which is basically none right now.

Re: Linen to sell, bills to pay
PM sent, and thank you for the clarification on the weight. I'll take the 6 yards of natural. In the interests of avoiding customer unhappiness, the IL019 is actually Fabrics-Store's middle weight- it softens up a bit once laundered. I would call it suitable for warm-weather tunics and linings, but ...

Linen to sell, bills to pay
Still off loading some stuff to get caught up on bills. 4 lots of linen to sell, heavy weight (but not quite canvas, I think), still in the box it came in, never got around to making stuff with it. Shipping is included in the price (unless you are not in the lower 48, in which case PM me and we'll m...

I bought this when I got home from deployment, so it has a bit more value to me than any other helm. I suppose I should hold on to it.

This is awesome, I'm going to spend a lot of time in this book. Now if only I had some video of the drills, since my "written word to brain" connection is slow and/or broken lol. I have a hard time visualizing the movements as they were intended.

FS: Knotwolf, not sure I want to sell...
Yeah, not really sure I want to sell this. I may take this post down if I don't have any interest in a few days. Lets see what happens. Bought this a few years ago with deployment money, figured I would be buried with it. Family life comes first. It's a Knotwolf, clinker, built for my 23" dome. Hand...

Re: Hard Luck Sale, Early Period Type Armor
More gear again... 6) Sleeveless 5 pad shirt. Covers kidneys, lower spine, and shoulders. I wore this under the lamellar. The one I have for sale is not the one in the pic, that would be gross. I bought two of them because the price was good, I will send you the one that is new in the plastic still....

Hard Luck Sale, Early Period Type Armor
I'm not quitting SCA heavy, I just don't have the time I would like to devote to it anymore. So when the chips are down and it's time to trim some fat, this is the stuff that goes on the chopping block. It is all excellent gear, and if it weren't for my situation I would still be using this stuff. S...

How is your list looking for one of those starter helms? I was hoping to pick one up for my lady.

I'd like to put a small one together for knives, doesn't have to be more than 10" to 12" deep I would imagine. Any design/burner combo recommendations for a noob?

Not stupid, just something you have not come across before. There is so much history out there, one could spend a lifetime focused on a single time period and not see everything. Honestly, the reconstruction as we know it now could be incorrect and could change in 15 years.

Re: Shield Boss
I really CAN say that it seems like bosses were attached with five rivets a lot more than I expected. I had figured that there would be even numbers of rivets, because that would allow the handle to be held in place with the boss rivets. I am pretty sure that well over half the shield bosses (I act...

Reason number 239 why the AA is awesome:
When you see some cool armor in a movie, someone on here either made it, or personally knows who made it.

Smallest I know of is 80cm, but using the elbow to elbow method I will be using a 30 inch (about 76cm. I don't think I will go any smaller than that. Honestly, I may be going too far. I made a 32 inch, and it comes in at 12lbs. I think the lightest I could get down to, without going into plastics, i...

I am really just looking to lighten up the shield a bit, mostly because I don't want to destroy my shoulder trying to switch from strapped to round. Looking for a spring steel shield boss. Not really sure what kind of price range it would be in, but I am open to the realities of material cost and effort required. Thanks!
