Its about 14 gauge aluminum in your kit. 14 g goes about. .9 lbs per square foot of metal. My kit is made out of 20 g stainless. 20g is about 1.5 lbs per square foot. The aluminum still beats it by weight hands down but mine totally stands up to BOTN/ACL fighting. I was surprised when I looked it up...

Silica bronze wire for the mig welder. Can get it from most welding suppliers. You can join j ust about anything metal to any thing metal with it. Love this stuff.

wisby coat plate placement
My question is, if the gauntlets from wisby have plates over the leather and under the leather for good articulation, is it possible that the coat had the same configuration? Does any one have any good pics of the original coats found?
