Re: Revival Leather to the white courtesy phone
I placed a shoe order in December through the web. Never heard from them. No response to my e-mails. Phone numbers are disconnected. I am going to do a chargeback. It's very sad. All of my previous shoes are from them. I wanted to give them money but I guess they don't want it.

The secret to getting your chairs is to show up at an event where he's at. I know that's not much of a secret and not much of a comfort but that's how it works. He doesn't respond to e-mails, messages, Facebook, etc. He will not communicate, particularly once he's fallen behind on his commitment. We...

My husband's work (Maestro Ryan Dollas of Gleann Abhann). The outfit is red and black although I know it looks more pink in this picture. Re: 5th peerage, for rapier, finally passed!
From the original proposal for the Order of the Masters of Defense: 2. Badge: Three rapiers interlaced in pall inverted proper. This badge is intended to be representative of the various aspects of weaponry included in the new peerage. 3. Regalia : White or silver livery collar with badge of the Ord...

SOLD: Windrose Bascinet - $300
We have a hardly used, SCA-armored combat legal Windrose Bascinet for sale for $300. Shipping cost will have to be figured separately. We originally purchased it for $425 and the original price tag is still in the helmet as can be seen in the pictures in the album linked below. The face plate lifts ...

Re: Future of SCA fighting
So you want more people in your area of interest (armored combat, rapier, illumination, running gate)? Off the top of my head here are my suggestions for the steps to follow to get someone hooked: 1. Make it easy and comfortable for the newcomer to start. They shouldn't need to spend a single $. The...

Re: To waiver or not to waiver?
At a fighter practice that I handled the waivers for, we had a spreadsheet with all of the blue card participants. The spreadsheet had the person's name, membership #, and expiration date. A chart was printed out monthly and all the waiver officer had to do was put a check mark for that person for t...

At the time he was up there, were all the archers dead inside the fort? I don't believe that all of the archers in the fort were dead. I know that at least until the long injury hold that Lord William Millwright and I were using our torsion ballista to try and kill an archer inside the fort (near t...

I just thought I'd start a thread where people can post photos (or links to groups of photos) from Gulf Wars XX. To start things off, the following photo link was posted on the Gleann Abhann list: http://kungaloosh.smugmug.com/Gulf-Wars/Gulf-Wars-2011/16272250_rKWsq These aren't my photos. Also post...

Gulf Wars *sorta* has principals though. It's a war between Ansteorra and Trimaris that is fought on Gleann Abhann (formerly Meridies) land. It's Ansteorra and Allies versus Trimaris and Allies. Now no one really keeps track of the war points and somehow magically everything ends up even at the end ...

My husband, Ryan, makes all of his Elizabethan doublets/jerkins at his natural waist. To keep the pants and doublet together, he puts a long, thin flap of fabric into the doublet at the back/waist which has eyelets in it. He puts matching eyelets into the pants and then secures them together with so...

I believe that it was 5/8th inch water hose that was used. The process was that a pattern was made for the leg shape out of canvas (two pieces - an outer piece and an inner piece). Channels were sewn into the canvas for the hose and then the hose was stuffed in it. Another pattern piece was cut out ...

My leg armor is also the hose style but it is the clear, heavy duty water hose. It is the whole hose and it is not cut in half (if it was cut then the raw edges would eventually tear through the cloth). Each piece was roughly measured out and cut and then tossed in the dryer for about 10-20 minutes....
