WTB Youth combat plastic cup hilts

My 8 year old daughter is wanting to try youth combat for the first time at Gulf Wars so I'm pulling a rig together for her. I can either make something hideous out of tubing and tape or find a nice cup hilt for her. Does anyone make or know who makes light plastic small cup hilts?

Re: Gulf Wars 2013 Pics!

After all these years I finally made it in a few shots. Me in the blue tunic, on the right getting my elbow cop ripped off. http://aiden-groundpounder.smugmug.com/SCA/Gulf-Wars-2013/Bridge-Battle/i-wmjvHjs/0/L/IMG_0033-L.jpg http://aiden-groundpounder.smugmug.com/SCA/Gulf-Wars-2013/Bridge-Battle/i-x...

Re: Pennsic XLI combat reviews

Wait, what? It seems the marshalls had some issue with the mandrake tips. If the foam got too compressed the tips would fold over a bit. Spears were being failed in droves although mine made it through. Some of the marshalls "rebuilt" some weapons replacing the foam with plastic airsoft pellets. As...

Re: Hitting the same spot mutliple times

First uses a lot more arm and the second shot requires you to throw a lot of hip into it and crack it a bit more. Course I'm a wimpy boy. I know some silverback corn-fed boys that can throw them all day with a ton of power.

Just about any elbow or knee cops with wings, rondells, etc. I think we should all wrap ourselves in bubble wrap and hit each other with pool noodles. Wouldn't want to run any risks. You kidding? A pool noodle can break down in the weather allowing a chunk of foam to fly downs guy's throat and chok...

Re: News from Gulf Wars?

Caius Aurelius and Ragnar Thorfinnson were both elevated into the chivalry at the war. The fighting was largely good with only a few cases of people completely tanking. The field and fort battles were good and intense with not a lot of standing around in the heat. The ravine battle seemed like it wo...

knotwolf spangen-type helm for sale

I've had this helm for a good long time and it's solid as a rock. But it seems my head is changing shape and the fit doesn't feel right anymore. Richard just sent this back so it's been refinished and it looks nearly new. I hate to part with it. Come with an army surplus chinstrap. Outside circumfer...

I can't manage the 6 hour drive that often but I'd be happy to do what I can. Especially if your family member is willing to travel a bit here and there. Turf Wars is in early Jan and I'll be down around Osprey then. I'll be happy to meet him and work with him there. I think Alexander will be back i...

I also recommend the army surplus strap/chicago screw method. Using it for years on various helms and it works great. They last forever.

Everything was right in front of your opponent with no attempts to move around the sides and switch up angles. With the exception of one follow up shot everything your threw was offside head and those shots seemed a bit wild in spots with some looking like they went over your opponent's head. I'd al...

I've been fighting with a pair of his just like that for well over a year now. They aren't grounding but I put a bit of foam between my hand and the glove and I've ha...

Re: Rawhide shield edge?

I usually use a ton of duct tape and tape the wet (not dripping) rawhide down around the shield and maybe clamp it down in a few stubborn spots. After a day or 2 you can start to remove the tape to expose the rawhide and a let it dry a bit faster. When it's completely dry I drill small holes through...

Re: Thrusting in tourney.

I personally have no issues with thrusts if used well. I had a pretty nasty motorcycle wreck over 3 years ago that left me with about 50 percent mobility in my sword wrist. There are shots I can simply no longer throw. I picked up a thrusting tip to ad something back into my repertoire. I don't use ...

Re: Maximum Coverage ZoomBang SHORTS AVAILABLE NOW

It was the shorts, not the pads. The theory is that it was the weight of the pads causing the sliding and tearing of the shorts. They were tearing along the stitching like perforated paper. I sent them back and had a new pair in about 2 or so weeks. I asked them to remove all but the hip and thigh p...
