Re: Fact-checking fight-books: comparing historic injury...

The percentage of leg wounds varies from pit to pit in the Wisby record. Many of the figures with leg wounds also have parry wounds on their arms as if they were knocked down and covered themselves in a fetal or MMA "full guard" position. How this can possibly provide inference in modern combat rec...

Re: Fact-checking fight-books: comparing historic injury...

It says there is a strong correlation and yet the re-enactors seemed to barely hit the lower legs, while over half the injuries at Wisby seemed to be leg shots. How can they show correlation there? Wisby The injury pattern in this sample is unique in that it demonstrates a high prevalence for evide...

Only one of those was a "heater" style shield...the rest are bucklers and smaller than you are seeking. Would these still be called bucklers despite their large size? http://manuscriptminiatures.com/4372/7099/ http://manuscriptminiatures.com/5195/16722/ http://manuscriptminiatures.com/4154/12100/ h...

Light sparring, heavy sparring, competitions....I've only ever seen this happen twice in all the time I've used them (4 years I think). One was a fluke and the other was because I had modified the tip. Are you by any chance using the grey blades?

Part of the problem is that a belt such as we are discussing would have been a massive waste of leather. Why make an inferior armour out of a valuable commodity when you can make a superior armour out of a more plentiful commodity (leather versus wool).

Heat should do it (heat gun, steam, etc). Barring that, give Purpleheart a ring and ask what they'd do...they're nice folks I'm sure they give you a straight answer.
