I do understand the worry about water in your saw. That said, a spray bottle of water with some dish liquid in it can be a big help cutting/drilling stainless. I always mixed it a bit stout but the water gives some cooling and the dish liquid lubrication.

Another observation of the "extreme offset" piece. A small gusset of plate at the inside of the bend will go a long way in adding strength to the piece.
