My latest creation :)

Hello Archive! It's been about two years since I made any SCA combat helms (a little more but whatever) and I just made this during the past week. I made it for myself. I describe it as a sporty "bascinet" of sorts. :) 14g SS top and sides w/.25" stainless bar for the grill and a Knutt welded stainl...

Re: My fighting sucks. Help.

It looks to me like almost all of the things that have been mentioned here stem from you not wanting to get hit. Your primary direction of movement is backwards. When you throw shots, you are off balance because you are already moving backwards. Every step forward you take, you are ready to move ba...

Re: I want to learn more about Polypropylene swords!

Rattan sword weight is going to vary of course mostly dependent on user preference. Greener rattan or older dry rattan, thickness, sword length, and of course construction method all of which ignores hilt preference. From cross hilt and pommel, bar stock baskets, boat cup hilts and then the ever pop...

Re: I want to learn more about Polypropylene swords!

Have been using mine now for 8 weeks both heavy pell work and all my practice fighting. Very cool that I have not broken it. It is heavy as hell. I have not noticed a single person ignoring blows from it. People who ignore blows from it because they claim it has a different feel or sound to it are f...

Custom Jaeger Sword - For Sale!

Custom Jaeger blade crafted to my specifications. This blade is NOT a replica or a duplicate of any historical sword but it was loosely based on the sword believed to belong to Edward III remembered in history for his dramatic victory against the French at Crecy (1346) 33.5" Carbon steel blade RC ha...

From the pic of the original sketch it would seem some bauzis or the like are in order.

Re: (techniques) Issuing an invitation

If the shot looks blatantly open pay attention to the position they are holding their sword. If they are tensing up or pulled back ready to fire most likely they are baiting you. Working on your speed doing pell work might help you to get fast enough to hit them anyway which means their plan backfir...

Re: rus helm with face

A slight furrow of the brow, a little squaring of the bottom lip and some teeth would give you the more "sinister" look you are talking about but I like this as it is. I like that these sculptures have a life of their own and you are simply releasing them from the steel. Your skills in this style ar...

To be a success, your small business/armory NEEDS.... Normally someone who loves you and has a good job to pay the bills for a while as you get your business in order. Seriously it is tough and one must have realistic expectations of just how much one can produce and just how often somebody is going...

Yes light! I recently had a 10 x 14 barn style tough shed built to house my shop. Inside I have two flourescent shop lights hanging that provide as much light as I will ever need. Still a work in progress but this is where I am at so far. http://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m214/johno1count/Shoplight...

Watch it again. Initially it strikes the top of his kneecop and then skitters up the leg.

Then he nearly stabs him in the knee too.

Re: How do I etch Stainless Steel?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gL_KBaH9bFk Keep in mind the by products ( the water and potential gasses produced during the process) are extremely toxic so I don't suggest etching stainless steel. Perhaps you may be happier (and safer) to use a heavy resist material such as buttercut which is used ...

Actually after further review that shot clearly strikes Logans knee so there you go. Of course if it hit Dante I would still question him about why he didn't take that. That dude is THIIIICK!

Re: Atlantian Fall Crown (Atlantian Insider edition)

You mean that leg shot Bryce? I'm sure everyone who watched the video saw it. In Logan’s mind he probably thought "DUDE! I didn't even try to block that. Pathetic. Try hitting me like a duke should would ya?" and in Val’s mind he probably thought "Damn he didn't even try to block that! I should thro...
