Problem with combat arrows

I recently started making my arrows for the battlefield & have come across a small problem. I test fired the 1st half dozen. When I retrieved them, I noticed almost all of the nocks were shattered. I'm pretty sure that they broke on impact & not on firing. Any clues as to how this happened or how to...

Don't get me wrong, I didn't post this to slam the guy. In a round about way I'm saying that new people might get the impression that these are for fighting (Oooh! shiny! cheap! and it says "SCA"). Dangerous armor?

This guy has been selling on ebay for some time now, but I noticed that his helms now have bargrilles. Isn't this stuff too thin for combat? If so, how many people are buying these thinking "it says SCA, so it must be ok"? http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1639078996 -----------...

What's up with Westlig Stjerne?

I ordered a helm from them July of last year (mainly because their website gave a 12-16 week turnaround, but that's not 'set in stone'). There was some mixup around January and I assume I was bumped to the back of the line. I will take the blame there. Finally in June of this year, they tell me my h...

Summer's comming... what to wear?

My question concerns viking garb. I feel I have a pretty good setup now (for my first year) consisting of linen blend tunics and pants, wool cloak w/clasp, & wool leg wrappings. But it's gonna start getting warm sometime. What do any of you do to look period and survive the summer heat as vikings? M...
