I don't know much about modern welders. But I do know a bit about forge welding, and I support this.

Except for as a flux, which modern machines may not need. Don't contaminate the weld.

It took me a few minutes to realize that you probably meant a D&D costume instead of a Dare Devil costume.

I'm sitting here going, but DD's horns are really small, and part of his costume. This makes no sense. :)

SCA clacker weapons

I'm building my first "clacker" style weapon. The regs were a bit ambiguous.

Which is the proper method? I'm in Atlantia, so it should be society minimum standards.

Yes, please.

What are the dimensions, height at breastplate, height on sides, and total width when laid out as in the photo.

Re: Hockey Puck on Polearm?

If I recall, nothing that can reasonably be expected to strike the face of your opponent can protrude more than 1/2 inch or be less than 1 1/4 wide.

Therefore, it would fall into the realm of "the marshal
looking at the weapon and using best judgement".

Sadly, my kit is virtually unchanged. I did get new spaulders. Some nice Armstreet ones for my rus kit. I might be able to dig up a pic. Its a facebook pic. But I think I set it up so anyone can see it, even if you don't do FB. https://scontent-iad3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/12800128_1675140152748186_...

Holy cow. I know a guy who laminated bronzed and other secret alloys to get the hilt and pommel you show. Those by themselves are going to be pricey. The pattern welded sword with the, I can only guess, Ulfberht style lettering (in terms of manufacture, not linguistics) is going to cost you an arm a...

sweet!

A few questions...

Is the padding aligned in the same way as the coif, horizontal channels across the chest and back?

Does it have a collar and is the collar padded the same way?

How far does it reach, shoulder to shoulder?

Thank you.

I pretty much fixed the issue of it binding and cutting into my shoulders by adding a leather collar, which both pulled the maille up closer to my neck spreading its weight across more area and softening and rounding the edge of the neck hole.
