I love my splinted arms from Stonekeep armory. The cover elbow and forearm.
For the helmet part have you considered contacts? That is what I use when i fight as i have to wear glasses to see more than colored fuzziness.

The seamstress who made that is the head of my household. At the in the family price that pavilion would cost me almost $900 new without shipping. It is worth every penny he is asking. I would second this. I just ordered some gauntlets from him and he goes above and beyond to make sure your are getting not just what you want but also what you need. The customer service is well worth the price he charges alone.

I know i got some 2 inch rattan from LA cane and basket last year. I had to call them, same thing with the Cane shop in Berkley Ca. Both at the time had SCA people working in them so they know what you want.
