I have been asked by a customer to age a 15th century sallet helmet that I've made in order to make it look like an authentic piece .Does anybody out there know any techniques in order to acheive this effect?

Where on the net can I find a decent pattern for a Sallet ?

Please can someone tell me if there is any evidence that certain helmets pre 1500 were made from two pieces of iron or steel and crimped /rivetted together down the crest.
