Re: Combat sports on a ketogenic diet
I have done it. You will feel down on energy and generally awful for a bit then you will feel better and be able to fight just fine and your energy levels will be as good if not better then your base line.
That was my experience anyway.

Mongol Deel/Coat
A laurel friend of mine has started to make Mongolian Deels, hats, and some cool bead work. As she gets faster in production her prices are coming down. She has made me a linen and silk lined one and now a linen one to wear over my chain. Her patterns are based upon extant archaeology. Photography i...

That is pretty damn sweet Cap'n. I really want to avoid the carport modern material thing. To all the rest, thank you...those were the answers I feared but expected. In terms of holding up in the weather...don't get much but hot here in the Mojave desert where most of the events we go to are held.

Dining hall tents
I am attempting to research tents for camping with my household and am having trouble finding a good early period communal tent. I don't really want to make an outsized Viking A frame. I like the dragon wings you see all over the SCA but am unaware of any historical providence of them and would pref...

Too many alpha dogs to run in one pack. Now there are more packs. Nothing going on has any impact on training to fight and fighting. In fact there seem to be even more events where you can do this stuff as a result of the dog fights. Nissan I believe has the right of it, anything else is just windo...

Re: Of Gorgets and Aventails, a question if you will.
You are legal with out a gorget with an avaintail. It comes down to, do you feel safe? You are never absolutly safe...so it is a matter of your accepted rist and comfort level. A disk laced onto the back to cover your upper spine/neck region is easy to do, light, and comfortable so why not.

Re: Fighting someone you do not like
Depends on what you mean by do not like and the reason for the not liking. If I find someone generally annoying but have no misgivings about their fighting or safety I will fight them like I do everybody else. If I do not like them because they are an ass hat on the field, are unsafe, or beat up on ...

The answer Sean is I am a filthy rich noble that cares not about the longevity of said items. Hell probably can't be seen twice in public with the same stuff on anyway.
