Sasuke doesn't armor much anymore but we do get together at least once a year for a history event for kids.

Re: Polish Winged Hussar build (advice and suggestions welco

I made a anime style breast plate very similar to the one you linked from polish hussar supply, minus the decorations as this was a trial. I have CAD drawings of full front, back, shoulders/lames if you would like. There is some adjustments that I made from the CAD file to the finished piece, ie. cu...

Awesome immage, thank you. That is just the type of info i was looking for. As always, thank you Craig for all your info and allowing us noobies to use your patterns. Without them my start into the world of armoring would have been a bit tougher.

Re: Question: Early 15th cent. Italian shoulders (1400-1410

Thank you for the response. I get what you are saying. I guess my main question was if it would be ok to make the left and right the same shape? On his site the left and right are very different. I suppose if it is more accurate to do them just the way he does them I will just do it that way. I am n...

Question: Early 15th cent. Italian shoulders (1400-1410 ish)

I am going to make a set of early 15th cent. (aiming for 1400-1410 ish) Italian shoulders as a gift and was wondering what would be the most common style? What would be the proper style around Venice be at that time? Could I use Craig Nadler's early 15th cent. shoulders? Would they have to be differ...

Re: Anyone buy from these guys?

I am going with early 17th century Polish Hussar and I just cant afford the yellow boots from polishhussarsupply ($450 with shipping). So I figured black should be ok unless I can find a yellow set for a more budget friendly price.

Re: Anyone buy from these guys?

I thought about Viking leather craft but they are not the right type of boots, I have ordered from Frank before so I know I can count on him if I go that rout. Thanks for the replies. I sent a message to son of sandlar too, we will see what they say.

Anyone buy from these guys?

I am looking to get a new pair of boots. Are these guys as good as their reviews suggest? Has anyone dealt with them? Is there another supplier that I could buy from with as short of a waiting period (1-2 weeks max). I understand you pay for quality and I am willing to if I can get them in short ord...

Re: Question for Those of You Who Have Made Beds.....

I used 2x6's for the whole construction of my rope bed. After 3 camping seasons it still looks and works like new. I am close to your size. I believe the bed pattern I used came from housr greydragon website (sorry if I got that wrong) but I changed a few things and made it a one person bed. If you ...

Just an FYI all of the armor related projects that I have finished have been given to new fighters, no money required (on occasion I have been forced to accept a small amount of cash for materials). Me and Pathfinder have been talking about "sponsoring" new fighters with knowledge and armor, may not...

Good choice on the winged hussar, that is what my aspiration is as well. I have found the book "Gods Playground" to be a good read for polish culture around the time frame. PolishHussar.com has some really cool stuff, I have not purchased anything from them but it gives you some good reference photo...

I second the use of watered down house paint. I did simple lines and curves on mine last year and they still look good after lots of rain and crummy weather. Be careful on who works on it with you. I let my 9 year old help and ended up with a few drips and such. when using the painters tape be caref...

It appears, in the third-inside shot-photo that there is a leather strip connecting all the plates down the center as well as the sides.

I can attest to the quality of his work. He brings this awsome anime style armor to our local history fest and the movement is awsome as is the workmanship.
