at the risk of being flamed, would you be able to make a slightly larger encrache? To my horribly limited knowledge, they were used on horseback, and didn't need to be very large, but.... to use on the field for sca purposes... I would like something a wee bit bigger. Trying very hard to figure out what type of shields a knight would have used around this time frame. Not sure where to start, just have been Googling my butt off. I have seen some heaters.... and the small, oddly shaped ones used mostly in the jousting tournaments...

VERY interested in this helm!! I just measured my head like... 5 or 6 times, and got anywhere from 22 1/2" to just over 23" Therefore, I think I may be doing it wrong lol. The last measurement I just took was right at my eyebrow, and came out just over 23". Do you think it will fit my melon?

There are no words to adequately describe how awesome that is! Even more so when you know the recipient, and realize that Ugo has sculpted Ajax's face onto his new helm. :shock: I TOTALLY agree!! Hey folks! These legs were what I got authorized in, and have fought in a bit the last few months. Not a whole bunch really.. a few practices, Crown roses, and a Coronet list... about it I think. I screwed up my shoulder pretty bad, and haven't had much time, which is a real bummer cuz I'm still sup...

There ar a few answers to this question, and you are sure to hear all of them here. So, I have a helmet, it is 12 ga ss. has a lifting bargrill visor, and is a strange barbuta/sallet looking shape. rounded top, and the little barbute tail, but the front looks a touch more german... ANYWAY, it is LOUD!!!! How loud is it? Well, I play heavy metal guitar in my garage at absurd volumes...
