That didn't work as well as hoped, it rusted the helmet mostly, but it greyed my sword, i wonder why the difference if they are both mild steel.

My arming cap actually meets puncture resistance actually. I may add a bit of duck canvas over it just in case, or get a coif at war. My current hood is meant to go over my mask, i doubt it would work with this helm.

even if it isn't usable for C/T it is still good for rapier and armored combat, i can always design hardened leather inserts to close the gaps later, maybe even an aventail.

I understand, this one isn't strictly historical, it is however personal, it is a stylized viking occular, with certain trade offs for my desire to have one helmet for all the fighting i'm doing. I'm quite happy with it.
