Re: Custom Armour from Outfit 4 Events - Experience?
I have bought numerous pieces from Oitfit4Events, and never had any issues with them. Decent communication considering their location, good prices, good quality. I would buy from them again.

Still some nice pieces for sale. If you see something you want but the price is too high make me an offer. I'll also consider package deals for multiple items, and of course all shipping will be combined.

I'm 6'2" and 220lb, so the legs would probably fit you. As noted above, the knees may need some adjustment depending on the fit, but that's why they are only $150.Amanda M wrote:What size person generally would the legs fit? I am 6' 190lb.

The interior circumference is made to fit a helmet with about 26" exterior circumference. There is some leeway for slightly larger or smaller helms due to the adjustable liner.Ursus Epicurius wrote:How big around is the great helm?

Re: Armor for sale
I hadn't intended to sell the sword too, but I could be convinced to add that in for a total of $1,265 plus shipping for the sword, sword scabbard, dagger and dagger scabbard. I'd throw in an Albion hard case to ship it all in for free.Leo Medii wrote:Is there a sword for the scabbard?

Re: Hisorical velvet?
Yes, I think the silk/wool part refers to the backing material, and rayon is the pile. What I can't figure out though is what "looks" the most historical among all the velvet options out there.

Hisorical velvet?
I've just finished making a pourpoint using Tasha's CDB pattern and it turned out marvelous. So now I'm considering making some more civil clothing. The period is late 14th - early 15th century England or France. I've been considering making something out of velvet, but information about what's hist...

WTB: Armor stand or armor stand plans
For anyone who sells armor stands or plans for making them, or knows a good place to get them, I'm considering a purchase and would like some advice. Need one that can take a full late 14th century harness. Historical construction is ideal but not required.

To compliment what Mac said, here is a great post by Jeff Wasson on the subject of greaves. He too mentions cone shapes:

Re: what do we know about late 14th and early 15th c. Sabato
On period effigies it's extremely hard to tell how the heel plate is connected, if there is actually a heel plate at all. In pretty much all the effy and brasses I've looked at (and I was just looking at some in person last weekend for making rubbings) you simply can't tell if that's a heel plate or...

I've used them for many belt projects, their selection of mounts and buckles is one of the best I've ever found. The waiting is agony but the product is excellent. I recently ordered the fittings to make a velvet covered hip belt similar to Cluny from them. I have total confidence it will turn out s...

Re: Greave / Cuisse pins
Sir James, maybe I'm misunderstanding something, but if the real issue is your demi-greave and poleyn coming out of alignment with your greave, then the solution might be in where you're pointing the cuisse. If you point the cuisse too far to one side of center of your thigh, the points will turn th...

I came into armor collecting just a few years ago and sadly, after seeing some of your work I have always felt like I'd missed the golden age of armor re-creations because Robert MacPherson no longer made armor. The armor you've made has always pushed me to strive to improve my own harness, and give...

The 14th century pollaxe
I've seen images in art of pollaxes or perhaps halberds in 14th century English artwork, but can anyone point me towards a book etc that explains the early pollaxes in detail? Like how/why did the shape evolve over time etc.
Thanks for any help researching this rather obscure subject.
