Does it look exactly like the one in the picture? Are you willing to negotiate a lower price?

Looking for a hanwei swept rapier hilt with or without blade

I'm not expecting to find one because they are really rare, but I am looking for a swept hilt from Hanwei if someone has one stashed away that they aren't really using anymore. I want the hilt specifically, but I am willing to buy the whole rapier, either blunted or sharp.

Alright, thanks all. I've forwarded all the info to the guy, see what he says. This was a lot less painful than looking for a Japanese helm. :)

Not to interrupt your tirade, but I think Halvgrimr was referring to his original post where he said: "If so, any action while require one man to start the ball rolling....if you feel that strongly about this issue...... be that guy ." I think he was applauding your efforts, not deriding them. -Big...

Re: 2" Mandrake tips suck and you all know it

So, the question is, when should we expect a ban? It took one incident from one CA round going through an eyeslot to cause a ban. We have had at least 2 Mandrake tips go through 2 different helmets in 2 separate kingdoms more than 1000 miles apart. And spears hit a lot harder than CA bolts. Dragon ...

Re: 2" Mandrake tips suck and you all know it

Odd that we in Northshield have one of the most spear loving/ heavy duty unpadded polearm/ great weapon heavy kingdoms around we use the mandrake 2 inchers almost like they're standard issue...and i have gotten NO reports of this happening. None, not one. Not in my 2 years as Baronial Marshal, 2 as...

Re: WTB Baldar Blunts others don't want

I'm specifically looking for the fathead blunts that I can shoot people with, whether they be just the heads, arrows, crossbow bolts, whatever. CA isn't the most common thing in the SCA, and a lot of people do it for a bit and then stop, so I'd like to clean out closets before going new.

Re: So who won Pennsic 43?

All the people who go and have fun? In theory, this would be true. That's what I want. Reality is that if 3 armies end up on one side, everybody on the weaker side gets pummeled while quite a few people on the bigger side get to practice marching. At Pennsic 42, I spent the first 3 field battles ge...

Rattan swords for sale

Hi all. So, I have a few swords sitting around gathering rust that I haven't used in 6 months and I want to get rid of. They were all built in January. As of this moment, I just had someone claim the one with the red thrusting tip. The other sword with the Japanese ring handle I want $35 for and the...

Re: HMB USA Association?

Ok, I'm trying to break this down. Team USA is the steel weapons team in the USA. I got that. BOTN is the tournament hosted by Historical medieval battles. I got that. Is the armored combat league a separate entity than the HMB? So is team USA still in the ACL but no longer participating in the HMB?...

Sir Diglach, Balin was using sarcasm. Look, the fact is, this happened. The fact is, it was supposed to be nigh imposible to happen. The question is, what is going to happen now? When the balder blunts had a failure that wasn't supposed to happen, they had a society-wide ban. Now we have a spear tip...

The more you buy, the less it costs. I bought 10 pounds on Friday. I spent roughly $6.60 a pound, versus $15 a pound at Hobby Lobby.

Re: So who won Pennsic 43?

My thought, if you want to make it "Fairer" and remove some of the hassle and avoid the squabble of trying to get the big allies, set up the four big kingdoms on a 3 year rotation. Year 1: Midrealm and East vs. Aethelmearc and Atlantia Year 2: Midrealm and Aethelmearc vs East and Atlantia Year 3: Mi...

Re: 2" Mandrake tips suck and you all know it

Here's my thought on the matter. I go to an event, and for the sake of the argument, I have brought my Mandrake tipped spear, my bow and baldar arrows, and my ballista. I can do any of the above. If I decide to do CA, I have to take my bag of arrows over to the marshal. First, they check out my bow,...

The point I'm trying to make is that I find it mildly annoying the war can be decided by Christmas of the year before. I realize a lot of work goes into it, doesn't mean I have to like it. Just gimme even-ish teams and lots of people to hit and I'm good.

Just gonna say, this is why I turned to that vile, hated art, combat archery. I know every bolt is super-carefully inspected and will consistently hit the same strength, every time. Might hit the face harder than a "touch", but I don't have to worry about jacking someone in the head.

Well, my hope is Atlantia went one way, Aethelmearc the other. Or that East and Midrealm might have allied again. I don't wanna be outnumbered, but I also don't like to be on the outnumbering side. I want a fair fight.
