why no big baggy sleeves? I loved fighting in big baggy sleeves, the provide a great large empty target for people to swing into.

you could leave an open sleeve that laced up though

you'll want steel nails and not brass for sure, I wear several pair of hobnailed boots and have to replace the nails about once a year, doing it in brass would be a weekly switch clinched nails make them impossible to replace as well, straigh nailed ones are better you might want to taper the second...

I've got a 49 inch chest and it's got lots of room yet, check the top photo. I'm 6-2 and the shirt is almost mid thigh on me, and I wore a linen shirt and a gambeson that was 2 layers of heavy cotton and 3 layers of cotton batt, with 5 layers over the shoulders

And yes, they were bored out to hold more powder than I wanted for one charge, so I glued a piece of dowel into each to reduce the volume. its 25 inches around the base of the dome, i have a 23 inch head and there is enough room to jam my hand up inside the front and side, so if you were to put some padding in it you'd have no problem if your head is my size or smaller
