OOOooOooooohh... that one on the left in the image you posted is awful pretty! (Though would the brief span between the feet cause it to be less stable than a chair that has a 'wider stance' ?) I've made a dozen of those. It's the back being rearwards of the rear foot that is the problem. You can l...

Re: SCA - How make HDPE barrel shiny or glossy? Also alumini
In my experience it depends on the barrel. The ones that are more textured you really aren't going to get glossy, unless you actually sand/grind off the nubbles and then polish it (which is a lot of work for what amounts to plastic armor, and still leaves it looking like.. plastic). The smoother one...

I used a single piece of wood. I first carved out a small section for the rope to run on and then moved the rope to there and then carved out the shape I wanted. I haven't yet. But am amassing info on them. Frankly, the hardest part to do seems to be the headstock bearing setup (if you want to drive from a spur) and getting the tailstock to line up right. The rest is basically an old singer sewing machine, with a spring pole instead of a flywheel.

Yeah, as a shipper.. what control am I supposed to have over how long something sits on the cargo ship, or at customs? What do you want me to do? Mail another? That will likely do exactly the same thing? Now, if the vendor said "you'll have it in two days", well.. that's a different story. But if it...

Re: Armoury Tour & Armour Purchase Packages?
Wouldn't a legitimate business doing this need to have insurance for guests and waivers to sign, etc, etc? Waivers are easy enough, and insurance would likely be whatever insurance they have on the property anyway. If you are talking about letting guests actually pound metal? That's a whole nother ...

Here is an odd shipping bit. With the USPS, if a letter is sent from an Idaho Falls address to an Idaho Falls address. .....it must be routed through Salt Lake City, Utah. I like the idea, you might consider offering them in multiple sizes, but I'm not certain what I would use them for in a practical sense because we do carry different things. yes indeedy douche. The problem with most satire in this day and age, is that it is too close to reality. Its not obvious hyperbole. It would be very hard to be like that without breaking a straight face, if it is satire then he is a good actor, but its just not funny. Poe's law.. And it's ridiculo...

I'm not sure why this would suprise anyone as a one off.. those trade routes predate like, everything.
Not saying every viking tribe had a mad aziz with them, but it's not impossible to believe trade happened.

They are a pain in the ass. You could maybe fake em up solidly mounted to a bandolier.. but on strings with slip caps it's like wearing the world's worst windchimes. Plus the hold like.. 300 grains of powder. You'd be hard pressed to shove a band in there and get it out easily.

Get it professionally dipped and lacquered. They pretty much do whatever the current analog to a carbon tet tank is, which removes all oil, water, crud, etc, then coat it with something nigh impervious to the universe.
