Re: Ironmonger Armory review, My T-slot barbute is here!
Oh. I'd like to add that I really like his measurement system over common circumference measurement, as I have kind of a long head front to back and helms that should fit by circumference don't fit on me. and ones that do tend to have side play. you can see a video of his measuremens here http://www...

I can only hope my daughters will grow to be as fun. I grew up trapsing around in my dads kit at events (though usually just as he needed it for inspection which earned a good talking to lol)

Re: Jousting toys
looking at the original picture posted the base, horse, wheels, knight, and reins are all separate pieces, cast and then riveted (for lack of a better word). the legs of the nights have "nails" and the reins do too, also there is a definite line below the hooves. I also see 2 loops for stings below ...

Re: Not exactly armor but .... Period tents
http://midwesttent.com/ is where I got mine. it's a 10 x 10 slant wall with a sewn on awning. I will advise you to call them though as their stock rotates heavily. they make one type of tent PERIOD for a given time then move to another so they usually have a bunch of one tent at a time. their prices...

looking for pricing for a moddified T-slot barbuta
Hi I was looking to get a quote on getting a helm made. I was looking for a T-slot barbuta with slightly wider openings for eyes and mouth. I know unfortunately this means running a grille, but it opens my vision and makes my breathing easier. I initially drew a rough picture of what I was looking f...

:Wanted: "Shoestring budget" helm
Hey guys. I'm desperately trying to get everything pieced together so I can attend Great western war on a shoestring. I can keep most costs down because other than articulation (which I have already) and a helm, I can make my own armor (Wisby with ptfe barrel plates, and splinted leather limbs. Hard...

Beautiful work on em whoever did it. Wish I had that kinda cash. And a kudos to whonew for assisting another member like that. Most people wouldn't go to that trouble for their own work being sold secondhand much less someone elses. (Unless I missed that it is in fact your own work. But even then ku...

Re: Carry Bag
Olive drab sea bag is the most common. more modern ones (still mil spec) have padded backpack straps and cut in to the shoulders less. Pluss you can get lock kits for them if you're worried about it. not that the lock cant be foiled but a knife up the side of the bag. plus it's small pocket is good ...

Hey everyone. New member here so be gentle lol Rejoining the SCA and am working on making a (gulp) picklebarrel breast and back plate. the plan is to make it a tight fit (with camp foam underneath) and then cover it in leather with leather using washered rivets. (and a healthy layer of 3m spray to p...
