Re: Knife Blade Blanks??

Thanks and I'll look when I get home. The big thing is not having a trademark or makers name stamped on the blade. I think I remember years ago guys were making blades out of saw blades. Is that a plausible alternative; or file blanks. Sorry for the questions, but i can only go to .mil, .gov, and .o...

Knife Blade Blanks??

When I get back to the states, have some elk antler laying around that I want to put to use. Where can I get blades that are not stamped with a logo? Just plain ole blanks? Also, what about finishing brass for the handle, i.e., brass disc where the blade meets the handle and such? Does that make sen...

For SCA combat, there is not much you can do without having an aventail hanging off your helm, and a butted mail one will not work. It would just fall apart.

Alright. I guess I will be going with a Viking style cross in silver that I already have in bronze or a cross type hammer that someone mentioned, if I can find one (not sure what one would look like). I am debating on a silver chain or a leather or linen cord. Your Highness Camric, what type of silv...

Kinda swing to both. Either or both would be nice (of course not to wear at the same time). I also want to wear it mundanely. I have a small silver hammer, but need to upgrade.

Thanks,

Being authorized for mounted combat. It is honestly the most fun I have had in the SCA in years...even though it was only for a few minutes having entourage duty.

Art Piece Name Help

What is the name of the bronze piece with the three "sleeping knights" or "sleeping normans"? You know, the one that has the thre knights standing behind their kite shields...looks like they are sleeping or resting.

Is yours the plasticized canvas or the army duct canvas? I figured it would be a bit warmer during the day. I am wondering mosting about the canvas maintanence. Sunforger I believe is supposed to be more mildew resistant. How well does the other canvas hold up?

I am going to order a Panther geteld. I have been emailing them about the tent, but I can not decide what canvas to get. I kind of want a two color tent. If you use the army blanket route, be sure that it is 100% wool. Most army blackets have synthetics in them. Sportsmansguide.com usually carries several differant military blankets.
