Pliers for peining mail rivets

I have a friend who is making chail, and bought a pliers to pein the rivets.

To tell the truth, they were not very well made (mainly too soft)

We had someone who had a plan for using modern lineman pliers to make peining pliers. Does anyone remember them, or have a link?

Re: SCA and medieval items for sale - Prices added

The gloves are Large. My hands are 3.75 across the palm and 8.5" around, which I believe is on the boarder of medium and large for most men's dress and winter gloves. But I always have to buy large because I have long fingers. If someone is going to rivet in new gloves, they could re-rivet the leat...

You 'old' timers might remember Ironwood, (Gundo's Dad) I was going through some of my old stuff, and found 3 ironwood mallets John made. For nearly a decade, I got to know John, personally (he lived less than 15 miles from me) and he was a good person John passed away a or so year ago........ My Bi...

Re: free e-book: Samurai 1550-1600 by Anthony J Bryant

, I happened to notice one title on samurai by Anthony J Bryant. Am I mistaken, or is this a work by the late, great Effingham? The name seemed so familiar (and the topic is certainly within his wheelhouse) that I immediately came back to the Archive, after well over a decade's absence, to make the...

Good day kind gentles, I have acquired a sugarloaf helmet for spare kit. It it definitely not safe for SCA combat right now, due to the long faceplate and sharp spike at the base. I would like to know how long the faceplate should be (or rather, what measurement I need to take on the wearer) and if...
