Hey guys, I can attest to the quality of the gambeson. I have had mine for years, and its like new still. I went basic with no special options but I like it. And I'm putting in an order for some prices soon. So I can try to review them when I get them.

I ordered a gambeson from ukraine and it only took about a week and a half. Mostly due to customs.

It looks nice man. Its hard to find a greek shield that is ready to go. I know there is several places that show you how to make one. But its about time and money. So im surprised about this one not going first as well.

Do you have a caliper benv? If not get a peice of cardboard and cut out your head shape. Leaving room to trim more untill it fits snug. Then measure the gap of the cutout. Hope that helps.

Try the usps. I got a good deal to ship a 24 pound package to france. It cost me about $19.00 to ship it from ohio. And decent shipping time too. I got an email saying it got there about 6 days after i shipped it.

Look at accdntprone. He has a topic in this section about a starter helm run. His helm looks good and i think he priced it at $140 plus shipping. That might be wrong but i think thats what hes got them liated at.

First Crusade, no surcoats (they didn't start doing that til they'd been there a while and realized that covering the armor helped mitigate the heat from the sun in the desert), That seems to be a myth.
