Many thaks to all for the help, thanks Olaf for the pic. I have everything figured out now, except the gauntlets, do they need to be just like the ones in the effigy ? We can't use fingered gauntlets in Ansteorra, I have a order in for a pair of Olaf's. I am mainly worried about the "knuckle" detail...

Ok since I currently do not have access to any pics of the effigy, could I reasonably use this for reference in building my kit, keeping in mind the obvious differences you have pointed out ? What about the aventail, is it padded cloth, or maile? Winther ------------------ "Esse Quam videri" To be r...

How accurate is this historic miniature to the actual effigy of Walter von Hohenklingen, who died at the battle of Sempach,1386.

Wow ! I am new to placing most pieces in their respective time period. You have enlightened me tremendously. Where can I get more info on herr Konrad, is any available on line ? I posted here as not to walk onto the field multi-time period/culture. I want to be as close to right as I can. Again I th...

Thanks for the input. Here is what I did. Laid my heater on a painters canvas tarp, added 3" all the way around, and cut it out. Then I laid the heater back down, and cut "v's" out to accomodate the curves, and sewed pockets all the way around. I laced a bungee type cord trough all, and pulled it ti...

Basket hilts vs. Guantlets
Has anyone fought sword & shield, florentine both ways ? How much wrist movement is lost fighting with guanlets instead of basket hilts ? I want to look more authentic than a basket, though this is the only way I've fought (2 yrs). Winther ------------------ "Esse Quam videri" To be rather than to s...

Early 15th Century leg armour
1415 England, would "soup-can knees have been worn with greaves, or would greaves only be worn with full upper plate legs ? I will not be wearing any seeable upper body armour (arm, chest, kidney), these will be covered by cotehardie. Winther ------------------ "Esse Quam videri" To be rather than t...

Maybe it's worth a shot, I bought an Ibanez RG350DX guitar in January of this year. It is white with a white pearl pickguard, all black hardware, floyd rose locking trem. double-sinlge-double pick-up arrangement. Also has Ibanez hard case ($180 alone). I paid $600 for both brand new. I am wanting to...

T6 shields
Has anyone attatched canvas to the outside of the shield. What kind of glue is best, and won't change the color of the canvas.

15th Century helms
i am wondering if a barbute would be fitting for a german living in 1415 England, would have brought it with him, or aquired it on the voyage.
Thanks,
