Re: Tony's blog

Thank you for the advice! at this point I am going to get some rather thin steel to make a test version and learn as much and figure as much out there, then move on from there. Also thank you for the points about gorgets I will keep those in mind and they are very helpful.

Re: Tony's blog

right now Im wondering if I should diverge from the original and other reproductions of it by not having the hinge be integral and insted making a seperate set of hinges and making them fit up to cutouts where the hinges would be otherwise, thoughts?

Re: Tony's blog

Re: Tony's blog

i know. I might have to restart on this if they aren't wide enough but my plan it to thin it out at the roll edge because the aluminum it pretty thick and then roll it but we'll see when we get ther I guess. Also there is another inch or more of material on each side for hinges, since yesterday I ha...

Re: Batteredshell’s Cardboard Armour Questions

If you ever redo the breast plate you might just want to make one dart down the lower middle of the front then hot glue it together, also it's looking good.

Re: Batteredshell’s Cardboard Armour Questions

first off, that breastplate looks beautiful, and second, even if its not the most historical is would probably be easier to just use strong tapes and "rivet" it to the carboard to give the same king of movement as on all leathers.

Re: Batteredshell’s Cardboard Armour Questions

yes, there were examples where plates were riveted straight to leathers to articulate but this one uses probably sliding rivets on the edge for it, it was just the first picture of what I want, but i have found more like this https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQq_W0UbjfmGE5ad46v6_...

Re: Batteredshell’s Cardboard Armour Questions

you could probably use duct tape, and also you might want to make your breatplate abit bigger then add that triangular gutout of dart in the lower center to try and get a better shape for your curiass

I'd make it longer, then add a dart that I put together to get a more cuirass-ey shape
