Hal, The ones I made were from a modified version of the pattern on the archive. The only thing I see is that you reversed the overlap on the toe piece to the first lame. That would make it act wierd when you were trying to bend it. The shaping is lovely though. Here's a pic of mine for reference. [...

For Sale 14th century transitional harness
Some of you may remember the 14th century harness I was building in the late spring early summer. As things have transpired I will not be needing it and would like for it to have a good home. As such the whole thing alone with a few bits and bobs must go. Price list with links to pictures follows, a...

*laughs* I was teasing about the hard kit. Actually, I wasn't planning on wearing my plate. I was going to do an infantry kit anyway. (maille over gambeson with a kettle hat, sword, buckler and glaive / bill (tbd)) The buckles are ALL going to be changed presently anyhow. I have to pull all of the l...

I wanted to toss a couple of words in here about Lewis Moore at Knight's Armoury as well. I cannot thank him enough for all the help he's given me in getting my harness done. He certainly could have made a whole lot more money off of me by selling me stuff but instead he opened his shop to me and do...

Through repetition you saw that you could control the paint and put it where you wanted it. That knowledge gave you tranquility. The same is true of fi...

Murdock, While I'm not necessarily disagreeing with you. A number like that can be daunting to someone who doesn't even know if this is really for them. Akmatov, Heh heh heh ... I once bought a frame for an 8' X 5' trailer from a friend for $60 for the frame, springs, axels. All I needed was the box. So I said to myself self, since I can make it how I want what do I want it to look like? Self said, "Make it look like a medieval strong cart" So here ...

Cased greaves suggestions requested
The last remaining piece of the puzzle for my harness is the greaves. I would like to make full cased greaves to go with my leg harness and sabatons. I left the greaves for last because they scare me. I've been working with Cad's pattern trying to understand how to shape them correctly and I've had ...
