Re: How to know the size of a pattern?
In general, the patterns on the Archive are shown on one (or more) 8.5x11" pages (i.e. a standard US sheet of paper). However ... just as you couldn't take a single pattern for a T-shirt and use it for all people, you can't use a single pattern for a spaulder (in your case) and have it fit everyone'...

Listen, I see WCA all over FB now. Did he clear the backlog ? This still remains true: -- SirBrand last updated this thread in Oct of 2014 -- SirBrand last visited the Archive Forums (logged in) at that same time. -- This means that for a year and a half just under nine years, there has been no rep...

Woo Hoo! The situation should be fixed!!!! (I hope) People should now get activation emails properly! As a related side-effect, you should now start seeing emails if you ask for them as a way to stay updated with people replying to threads, and people sending you private messages, and anything else ...

Re: Batteredshell’s Cardboard Armour Questions
I uploaded it to Google Photos and did what you did. Did it work? Also, if I delete the photos from my google photos, will it make them break on the forum? As Mac already said... yes, that worked. And yes, anything you link to that is not on the Archive will disappear/break if you remove them from ...

Re: Looking to Commission First Armor, Advice Sought
It should be noted that I told Will that posting here would be okay, as far as the Archive goes. Rank hath its privileges, and I am really rank.
The rules
So, somewhere around a decade ago, having a forum for people to post patterns in was suggested. This is the result. It is an experiment (and maybe about a decade late... we'll see how/if it works). :? Right now, this post is an announcement of the rules for the forum. These rules are subject to disc...

If you want to create an account on the Archive -- or if you recently have, and are waiting for an activation-link email... Outgoing email from the Archive is often blocked by mail servers. Re: Mac's blog
"That's the way I've always done it" is a valid reason.
For what it's worth, the forum software looks at activity when deciding whether you're online. So if you simply leave (or stop clicking on buttons in the Archive pages), you will be listed as offline after about five minutes.

Okay... for now, I've reactivated the "base" style of ProSilver -- though I didn't make it the default.
If you're not comfortable with the archiveLight, or acidTech (archiveDark) styles, you can go back to ProSilver, at least for now.

Re: Links To Important/Useful Threads In This Forum
We need to work harder on this, with an archive scour, copy, paste. There are roughly 30,000 threads in this forum. Almost 900 pages of 35 threads each. -- Many are (nearly) worthless. -- Many are not. -- A relative few are precious gems. I can fairly easily write something that extracts and create...

Just like the subject says... I noticed that Mac's "Dusting Off The Cobwebs" (St Florian project) has slipped off the front page. (edit... no it hadn't, I was just blind. Re: The St. Florian Project by Robert MacPherson - A Summary
Just as a quick note, Z and I are working on getting the PDF uploaded as an attachment. I allowed for larger files, but she's still getting an error (and its complaining about a size smaller than what the original limit was, I believe). Anyway, it will get uploaded. Also wondering how these threads ...

Any ideas on how to import a table into these posts, and have it look OK? Scanning the old threads is a trip down memory lane, and is producing interesting data. While tables could be supported, they can cause huge problems with the display of pages if you don't get it right, so we don't. You could...

WTB - custom closed-helm (sorta) for costume
Isn't really a "helm" at all, but that's the closest analogy I can come up with. It's actually the head of a robot, but (as a csostume rather than a prop) would need to be wearable... Like a helmet. Does not need to be SCA legal (and should not be). Does not need to be metal (and maybe should not be...
