Propane and stainless
I may need to heat some SS up to flare it, is there any problem associated with doing that with a propane torch? I wouldn't want to embrittle it...

The author definitely has a political viewpoint, which is casually related to the subject matter. The pictures are excellent. They are not "Carlo" quality, but still quite good. ;) The book would have been better if they hadn't just taken pictures largely of different helmets on the same suit of arm...

I think that Sir Gaston has made one similar to this. I would say that it was made in halves, and joined with the strip in the middle. There are far too many rivets showing along the 'seam line' for them not to be functional. That bit of metal could be latten or gilded iron. I think the scales would...

From the Society Marshal's Handbook: 5. Shafts may be spliced using a fiberglass rod or tube with a sidewall of 1/8 inch (3.2 mm) of the same or equivalent material, having an outside diameter of 1 inch (25.4 mm) and a length of 8–12 inches (203–304mm). Only two splices will be allowed per spear...

It is extremely good. But it is functional, as is 'the real thing', it just has 'fantastic' styling. There are plenty of depictions of "fantasy" armor in the late 15th, that you would probably like.Josh Warren wrote:Very nice, and I extend that compliment as someone who usually detests fantasy armour.

I think my ex-MiL said that if you inject the bite site with cortisone within the first 24hrs, that it really helps. I knew a guy that was working on his well head one time, which was in a boxed hole, of course, and a BR crawled up the insides of his insulated coveralls and bit him on his penis. :oo...

Dover has published at least 2 large books on woodcuts (one on Albrecht Durer's woodcuts). Dover specializes in reprinting books that have expired copyrights, mostly from the 19thC. I'm not sure if there would be any copyright issues in reprinting what are essentially collected 'public domain' woodc...
