Re: Single Most Painful Shot given/Received By You?

Ever squeezed a grape so hard it split on both sides? Had that happen to my middle fingertip. Freak shot -sword tip thru the basket hilt- that hurt like a ^%$*@#! Buddy who threw the shot said it was the ugliest wound he'd ever seen. Huh. Just compared right to left.. there's an eighth of an inch di...

Re: Recent gauntlets

Those are mighty attractive gaunts. I always wonder how much shaping is done on the decorative brass work before it's placed versus afterwards. I.e., how much deformation occurs and how that affects the punching/filing/whatever.

Review: Ironbadger

Just bought a gorget off of Ironbadger. Transaction was seamless. Price was a real bargain, communication swift, packaging was solid and sensible, the gorget was exactly as described and hoped for. He even caught the mistake I made on my own home address and set me straight. Two thumbs, five stars, ...

Re: Tourney Prizes

I once spent weeks fashioning a prize that the champion turned around and gave away less than five minutes after receiving it. I'm sure some thought it a gesture of largesse and generosity. I saw it as a desultory critique of my craftsmanship. These days, I often put together "fighter care packages"...

Received the package this evening. Everything is in great condition, extra bits were thrown in, and I love it!

Morejello's communication has been excellent; I am very pleased with this transaction. Thank you so much.

Now, I just need to find a helmet to go with it. Any suggestions?

Re: Weapons chains and the SCA

I tried 'em out once. In addition to the tangling issue Konstatin mentions, I also ended up bleeding when one snapped when struck hard under tension. The newly freed end was like a whip, caught me under the chin. A superficial scratch, but startling to say the least. If you use 'em, don't use cheap ...

Re: Orange surcoats and heraldry

Of the tawny/tenné users, perhaps the House of Orange was the most prominent in western Europe. Echoes of that rang all the way down to Dutch warplane insignia in WW2 -- orange rudders outlined in black. Lots of orange in South African heraldry, really, due to the House of Orange. It's also fairly ...

Hey everyone, I play Dagorhir and I'm interested in a 14th ct English (maybe German) knight/ paladin kit. Because we, as a whole, are very lazy with the English language and saying, "doing bardic" is shorter than saying "performing the bardinc arts" or "doing a bardic piece." Then how about just saying performing? "Going to the performance?" "Yeah, in fact I'm performing." "Cool. I heard Ingvarr was go...
