Very nice! I picked up one of the Hanwei Tinker Viking swords when the price dropped dramatically a few months ago, and I'm planning on a similar makeover. Good inspiration here!

The pics you use and the question you pose makes me wonder: Are armour and clothing the only reasons you involve yourself in reenactment?

And I am unconvinced that early portrayals, when done right, are any easier or cheaper than later ones.

PS: Earlier portrayals = no codpieces.

The fry pan arrived yesterday. It looks great, and I can't wait to try it out over a campfire.

The problem with your thinking is that the Vendel and Valsgarde helmets may have been in 7th or 8th century burials, but that does not mean this armour was made in the same century. Mord. In addition to model, size, and color, what other options are there for these shoes?

For example, I thought I read somewhere that there were other options for soles: thicker leather or vibram. What is the extra cost for the thicker leather?

And are there other options?
