Realy nice work. I made one like this but it turned out a bit flat without the cross trim. I didn't like the brass ones too but never thought about making them out of stainless steel. Good idea.

I was looking to some monster garage program and I saw Jesse James dishing a gas tank on some kind of sand bag. Is any one out here have tryed this method, I mean the sand bag.

I think sandblasting will not do a good job. Cause sandblast was made to remove rust or paint not polish or even the surface. I don't know if theire is many size of sand(I mean the diameter of the grain ). And if you are going to do it, well I hope you'll try it on a piece of scrap before trying on ...

I have always work stainless. Only once with mild steel for my friend he asked me to do a fluted X shape on a shoulder protection and i just beated the steal to hard with the punch and it craked...That's his fault he asked me to do it LOL!! What I did is I took a steal rod 3/8 drilled a hole through it placed it in a drill at one end. For the other end you place a peice of wood in a vise you put a hole a bit bigger than 3/8 and you put the other end of the rod in it so even if you go at top speed it will not wobble too much.
