Re: ISO brass rivets

Seriously, RJLeahy. My latest project has been a Byzantine Klivanion and so far I've pounded about 1600 rivets. I've never had shipping delays from them, and a #12 burrs are a great match for 1/8" diameter rivets. I've been ordering from them for years.

Re: New Mittens for you

Umm... I don't want to unnecessarily throw shade at a new armorer, but aren't these gauntlets an exact copy of the gauntlets Grettir the Slow has designed and manufactured for almost twenty years now??? If I'm wrong, and I hope I am, I apologize, and I will publicly (on the archive, anyway) retract ...

Re: D3o (like zoombang) under a soft helmet liner?

I use padding from Unequal Technologies that was developed specifically to supplement the padding already present in football and military helmets, and I like it a lot- I find that I no longer get the headaches that I used to get when wearing my helm for a long period of time. The padding was develo...

Mark,
Does greathelm 2c already have the breaths drilled? I'd be interested if they weren't drilled yet. (looking for more perood diameter breaths.)

Re: Pig Face Bascinet

I don't think that the Bascinet for sale is a GFDB Bascinet- The GFDB Bascinet's have a pointed visor and no medial ridge, whereas the one for sale has a blunt tipped visor and a distinct medial ridge. The differences are pretty well apparent on the Facebook pictures. Just my two cents. Talun Mac Du...

Re: Price of Lewis Moore finger gauntlets?

I've owned three pairs of Lewis Moore Gauntlets- two hourglass pairs and a set of Wisby's. I sold my Wisby's after a few years of heavy use for $250.00, but they had the full cuff. If I were to be looking to buy your gauntlets, knowing how much I like my own Lewis Moore's I'd offer $125.00- $150.00....

Not even close. The Great helm is actually a little smaller than the Cerveliere.
The Cerveliere has a thicker top as well.

Yes. I just finished a new Shovel-face Bascinet for COTT level fights, so no need for the great helm.

WTS Cerveliere by Mad Matt w/ aventail SOLD

A Short Round Top Cerveliere by Mad Matt. I've blued the helmet and attached a stainless aventail by Atlanta Armory. I've also added a second drape of black bison leather beneath the aventail because the aventail itself weighs next to nothing. (I'm not worried about the strength of the maille, but t...

I have two helms made by Mark, a great helm and a ring face bascinet. (The ring face is the one pictured on his site as a matter of fact.) They are both excellent helm and have survived everything I could dish out to them. My bascinet has survived almost ten years of SCA combat in Atlantia and has o...

I'd be more than happy to trade, but you'd be given up more than you'd be getting.... Don't get me wrong, they are a rock solid pair of Gauntlets and I f...

I'd be interested in an SCA legal kit, but without a price range I can't confirm it. If it's under or near the $125.00 range I'd definitely be in.

Would you be able to offer a set with one of the Wisby styles of cuff and metacarpal?
