Pretty soon I am going to a strapped shield instead of my oval center boss. I think he was doing a powerful over handed chop even when I was inside it was enough to knock my attack enough and I think the did a strike with the polearm enough to knock me down. I do fight inside all the time and I know how to gauge the range of how close I need to be able to be effective however with this opponent that does not work. Thanks, this has not been an easy project. I am not much a leather worker so it has been a learning curve in how to rivet and prevent bulges in the leather on the breastplate.
