I have a spring steel globose I bought from Murdock a few years ago.. Just a tad too wide in the chest for me to use effectively.. Painted the interior to keep from rusting.. exterior ain't bad..

From what I remember will fit a 23-24 inch head... Smaller the head the bigger the nose can be.. discussed this yesterday when I thought I had a buyer for it.. Turns out hat was right, his wallet wasn't..

They changed the formula a bit got more strength with only about 4 oz per 100 ft more in weight (or something like that).. so the difference is damn near nil..

A spangen or Conical norman will be easier to keep in your budget and the proper style helm for what you are wanting to do.. I am trying to find a mundane company to black oxide my stainless steel bits. Does anyone on this list have anyone they use? I've pretty well exhausted the PA companies. I found one in Cleveland, but they do mil spec work, and it will be $$$
