Look for anything about Meyer's dussack training (which is actually really well laid out even in text with the woodcuts available), or videos for Bolognese (Marozzo, or Manciolino). HEMA and WMA groups will usually translate pretty well into SCA for those two styles specifically.

Polar Bear Forge and Grey Cat Armory has some do-it-yourself kits that just require shaping and riveting (all materials supplied, I think).

I'm in the same boat. He's also offered to refund the money if it's gone too long, and we're getting fairly close to that date.
His communication has been pretty good, and honestly was better than mine was initially. While I'd like the helm, I'd take the money, too.

You should be able to talk to a surplus lines agency, or an all-purpose shop that does more than auto insurance, to get special event or even like a martial arts club insurance coverage. The important thing is knowing what kind of liability limits you need for the site or event, and whether it will ...

Re: SCA rapier?
What group or kingdom are you with? What you're ideally looking for is Cut & Thrust, within the SCA. It's usually a subset of rapier (but not always, as in Calontir, Northshield and maybe other locations). Sticking to a strictly rapier ruleset, there are no percussive cuts -- instead, you have a dra...

So do you mean that after the hammer strike, no more bids are accepted? I'm a little confused, sorry! I think he means that there'll be more than one, since he says when the "first strike" will be. Usually, it's three strikes (going once, twice, sold). If you can get one of Tengushin's helms, do it...

I've seen people do yoga in 14th C kit.
Of course, I saw one of the girls that does polefit and fights heavy do an inversion on a light pole at practice in her armor, which was far more amusing.

14th C Hiberno-Norman is basically a few years behind the English styles of the day, with effigies showing CoP being the norm into the 15th C (technically, into the 16th C, since there are some folks who tried that when Henry Tudor invaded early in the 16th C).

Have you looked at Marc's scabastardsword.com? You might be able to farm that for drill ideas adapted to Montante, and there's plenty of discussion there for why and where he makes decisions on adapting Meyer's longsword to SCA combat. Might help speed your adaptation for Montante, anyway. Hopefully...
