Re: Hiding Modern Footwear

Does anyone have copies of the original poster's pics? Thanks, Teric If I recall correctly, Uric's looked alot like Jestyr's a couple posts up. He had a Norman persona. I don't have them on my computer anymore but I did find them on my old photobucket account. I tried to re-link them but am just ha...

Hey Randall, The artificial sinew I've used from Tandy Leather Factory is pretty nifty stuff. It's rather yellowish and waxy and was pressed into a flat strip before being wound around the bobble they sell it on - it is easily split into smaller strips for finer work. However, I've also purchased t...

I fought in a padded gambeson and maille hauberk and was able to compete at a knight level, and know many other that do as well.

Re: Hobnails and Cleats, how dangerous are they?

I fought in cleat for years without any issues and I dealt with the shifting weight of a maille hauberk. But like other mentioned your physical conditioning and weight will play factors into it. I also used velcro, hinged knee braces as the base to attach my knee cops, so I was less concerned about ...

I'm more worried abut aluminum shields with trimloc edging than mandrake tips. How do those pass the "might enter into a bargrill" rules? Corner of a heater could certainly enter more than 1/2" even with the 5" span rule on bargrills. If the corner of your heater is entering someone's bar grill, yo...

Price of Lewis Moore finger gauntlets?

I have had a couple of people ask me if I was selling my finger gauntlets and I am not sure what they are worth. I have a set of the 18g stainless run which has served me well. While they look a little ratty with the paint flaking off, the plates are solid and well connected to the leather fingers. ...

Think I have had my fill of the SCA. After hurting my neck, fighting in my 40's doesn't have much appeal. That and I am moving to travel for a few years and it will just sit it storage anyway.
