I know some of you already have this but I am still stealing this as my base design for an 2nd floor apartment friendly pell and I thought I would share it. I found it for public use on the HEMA Hacks FB page.

Sounds like the test should be run again. With correct materials made & mounted in a correct way (including straw padding cause why not right?), and using a far greater range of mounting systems and padding types. Would give a rather good set of data if done right.

Re: Continuing perspective from another sport.
Tiny place? One of the soccer guys has a whole footwork workout in less than a 3X3 space. If you have enough room to take a step, you have enough room for footwork improvement. It would not be prudent for me to do so right now if I also didn't have room to fall, which I do not. Trust me, I know wha...

Fair fight? Why would any of them do a fair fight? They're too smart for that. So why is the Samurai the only one allowed to maximize his skill set?

Reminds me I have been slacking on my footwork. I can feel it in my everyday moves. Perhaps after the move next month, when we have a yard again and are able to get a dog, I will have much more ability than this tiny place I have now.

With Milan's help I got most of the way through a baskethilt made for me (it's still in the "almost done" stage 8 mo later). Years spent wishing for a custom one, I should just have made one for me and bugger the look.
Smaller, better fitting ones always seemed to give me better technique anyway.

I let the author of the Badass series, Ben Thompson, know about the article as I had forgotten he covered The Last Duel. Read it. It made me cringe a bit where it started getting to the Vlad the Impaler (the 'short' version).
Was it written somewhere that death was served via a roundel dagger thrust under the chin after the faceplate had been ripped off?

A good point on the taking of thrusts from Matt of Schola Gladiatoria. I know many of us have complained about this visa vie the taking of thrusts. OK, maybe just me but still. A good video to watch. Re: HEAVIER SCA combat :) ?
I feel like SCA rattan combat allows for a wider variety of accurate kits, and excels at mass "warfare" with more weapon variety and target areas and strikes . The great thing about modern day medieval fighting, is that there is no number one sport. I like to see the crossover happening between all...

Re: HEAVIER SCA combat :) ?
I know some of the Eastern European HEMA folks hit rather hard. Short version: A man who did Persian sword play tried to do a 100 man fight with them and had to quit about 1/3rd the way through due to to many broken bones. Miscommunication is to blame but the Euro fighters want to bring what they do...
