"I believe that this essence of renown is a spark that burns brightly in those knights who share the common bond of seeking a distant ideal, and that this spark can be recognized instantly by others who travel the same road. Some of them are formally known as knights while others are not. It is a c...

The true essence of knighthood lies not so much in whether you believe you are a knight. The key is, do others believe you are a knight? If the answer to this question is yes, then I believe you can claim the title of knight. In so doing you also accept the duties towards acting with the right and ...

"I know of many within the SCA whose character and demeanor, both inside the Society and out, that they are knights in the pursuit of the ideal sense of the word. I know others who wear the white belt but who I cannot in good faith consider knights--I believe the same could be said for any group of...

However, there is nothing preventing a person from editing the quote he's making. ...or from editing the text in a daily back up for that matter provided they had access, but still it does add another layer of complexity in any attempt at duplicity don't you think. My post quoting Mr Price w...

Re: And my turn
Is this the post where he admitted culpability? This is a hard thread to read, but, given the difficulties over the last several years, and the hyper aggressive complaints made by two people, I should make a statement here. First, I will certainly admit up front, with continued sadness, that we *are...

I think you're not reading my posts carefully. I originally made the point to Talbot under the circumstances that I thought he had only just sent an email to Brian, probably even prior to when a reasonable response time had passed, and came back here immediately thinking that he had no faith in Bri...

If the burnt hand teaches best then why would you ask Talbot to open his hand to accept the heated iron? Read my first post on the tenth page. "it's not like he's [Talbot's] got anything to lose at this point... Only to gain." And what would you have him do? Hold his tongue? Be silent? How many yea...

I suppose. When I say "have faith" in such an uncontrollable circumstance it seems far less consequential than "trust." If I wanted Talbot to trust Brian, I might as well have told him to place a new order with him... But you asked him to have faith in one proven faithless, and proven so by his own...

The biggest may be 25 metres long, larger than any found so far. http://www.newsinenglish.no/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/3Skipsformet-struktur-LBI-Archpro-e1285250328...

I have been looking every where for a photo I've seen of a dog or wolf faced helm. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Thanks!

When I found this I was contemplating the actual changes of the ages from one to another. It seems a rather fanciful illustration what with the headdress and all. But the way the swordsman holds the blade in a position somewhere between a 'Pflug' and a 'Alber' tells me that the artist may have seen ...

Any chance you could edit the title of this to like First English speaking king after the conquest or something. Not that big a deal, I'd sooner delete it. I guess another way of asking this is: Who was the first post conquest king that thought of himself as being English rather than Norman?...
