Re: ISO scabbard maker recommendation
I've done a few scabbards, and a lot of free time on my hands due to covfefe. but nothing as nice as Todd's Stuff, DBK or Christian Fletcher. I was just looking at the slats of wood I have sitting in the corner I bought specifically for swords, but have no swords right now that need a scabbard. Star...

Re: SCA and medieval items for sale - Prices added
A bump. Removed pics of all sold items. If there's a pic, it's still available. Also, I calculated shipping of the pole-arms. Due to their length, they must go either UPS or FedEx. and depending on location, I've gotten prices for $120 to $300 within the US. And $1500 to over $2000 to other countrie...

You should always check with the laws of your state, as they are constantly changing. But black powder weapons are not restricted by the ATF, as they are considered antique and in the same category as bows, crossbows and air guns by the federal government. And are not technically categorized as a fi...

The cops and brass handgonne are still avail. I just realized I didn't put down the full measurements on the handgonne or the price again. I paid John $300 or $350 for the handgonne itself. The brass blank he made it from was a 1 3/4" chunk of brass that cost over $100 alone so it was a really good ...

The gloves are Large. My hands are 3.75 across the palm and 8.5" around, which I believe is on the boarder of medium and large for most men's dress and winter gloves. But I always have to buy large because I have long fingers. If someone is going to rivet in new gloves, they could re-rivet the leath...

I have some SCAdian and medieval collectible items; armor, weapons, sca combat, living items etc. I'm putting up for sale and I'll add items over the next few days to this initial post. I've been out of the SCA for nearly 5 years and no longer participate in medieval events and so I'm thinning out t...

Depends on definition of legit. It's odd to me. The person sells a LOT of military items (dozens), and it appears that just about everything starts at $9.99 starting bid (For a $260 A&A spear?!). Which seems like they are either a very uninformed seller, or they don't care. It's possible they raided...

It's an Arms and Armor spear of Friedrich IV.

Re: need armour strapping kits
Your experience may differ from mine, but I moved away from latigo straps a long time ago due to the problems with suppleness, delamination in skin layers and bleeding when wet. Medieval straps were most likely tawed in addition to tanned. Tawed leathers are treated and then 'stuffed' or treated wit...

Those bows from ArcheryBowman look really attractive in appearance and price. Some are extra long as well (I want a 76-78"). I had a solid self hickory that wasn't a bad shooter, but it lacked the real snap of a backed bow yet it had crazy stacking. Like Wade, I'm tempted to get another bamboo backe...

Re: ISO longbow recommendations
I believe it was roger ascham that prescribed the proper length of a longbow should be the height of the archer plus a fistmele (~4"-5"). This would lessen the likelyhood od snapping the bow on an overdraw.

Re: ISO longbow recommendations
If you're not going to use it often, a $50 bow sounds like an exceptionally good price. But sometimes you get what you pay for. I think if you shoot often you will start to notate some serious short-comings in any bow under $150. A laminated bow (backed with another wood or bamboo that resists expan...

I'm glad you like it. I used it exclusively at Pennsic a few years back. I had it on my shoulder anytime I left camp, and I KNOW for a fact it saved me from becoming sick from dehydration (at a couple of local events as well). It's like a "bag of holding" from D&D! I had to measure the volume 3 time...

I bought these sexy gauntlets from Hammer Breaker armory years ago (I don't remember exactly when but they appear to be out of business a few years now). I've never used these. They are brushed stainless steel and have no gloves installed. They appear to be a Medium size, as is due to finger length....
