I just found out, Iain, that you were not referring to me. Apparently there is a lesson in humility here, but it is not for you. I apologize for my eagerness. To be honest I have been wracking my brains all day on where this came from, and why a man I respect would have not talked to me of your conc...

Iain Ruadh It is the nature of the kind of Men we are looking for that they test those that lead them. That is the expected behavior of those drawn to a life in Harness. Thanks, guys!! I'm glad you liked it! Aaron, all the injuries can be traced back to faulty/untweaked harness. (all but the collarbone. that was a freak accident. could have happened playing flag football) Yes, the level of violence is significantly higher at the NT than the divisionals and regionals...

Hmmm.. I'm not sure I got my point across. I didn't intend on putting forward the position that fencer=whiner per se. (reference the afore mentioned bad ass Rapierists) I think I wanted to illuminate three ideas: 1. The landscape of a Martial sport TENDS to lend itself to a certain kind of individua...

Why on God’s Green Earth would you WANT to fight from your knees?!?! (C&T or otherwise) Was that actually something somebody WANTED to do in C&T? Back to the OP. I am an SCA authorized heavy, rapier, C&T etc. fighter. I pretty much fight whatever is on hand. I have seen absolutely tough as nails, su...

A lot of the Armored combat League/BoTN folks are switching to period suspension liners. They are hands down superior, when done right.

FS Enameled heavy copper Dumbek/Darbuka. Squire’s A&S dream!

Beautiful enameled copper Darbukka, synthetic head, and carrying case. Bought from Touch the Earth. your right, Gregoire. I was more referring to the "look" of the coif coming all the way up as opposed to the helm itself. (smile) sorry, I sould have been more specific in my question.

This is a very interesting image.. This is from Shamrock armory. is this an SCA-ism, or is there documentation for a chain coif coming up that far on the face?

Thanks a million for the reply, Sean! i am doing what really shouldn't be done, and working backwards.... This is specifically going to be used for BoTN and HMB style combat. Friends. I seem to recall some evidence of kettlehelms being used with "corrizina" style coats of plate. Does this ring a bell for anybody, or am I just getting cross wired?

Re: Helm Fit / Injuries?

Hey my friend. I wanted to comment on this really quick, as this is pretty significant... The majority of the helms I saw being used by the primary teams were using what in the SCA would be considered oversized helms. They fill that extra space up with really effective methods of padding. My bascine...

Gentlemen. I would like to address the question of the Original Poster. This is purely my opinion, and is not meant as some kind of blanket statement from my Brothers.
