again a flaw in the SCA rules system because this leads us to believe that crushing a shield with one of these weapons would put it through the shield and still damage the person hiding behind it. Don't take that the wrong way, I love fighting in the SCA and think it's a great sport.... I just can'...

Not only Gjermundbu. There is one find from Switzerland (X c.) with the same round shape and sandwich construction too. Also without a nasal.

Thanks for that pics Egfroth. Now I have historical verification of my first made helmet (spangenhalm with nasal, like that helmet on the second picture).

I don't know what is the title of this book... I've found this pics on some web page.
I think that all of those pics are from the same books and the text on first photo is in swedish or norwagian.
