Who makes furniture?

Just curious, if I ever wanted to buy a bed, or a replacement for the beautiful (but falling apart due to use) table legs Conal made for me.

Re: Concussions and CTE

Fascinating discussion, guys. I can ill-afford CTE with my job, but I've been taking many head hits lately teaching longsword and sabre. I suppose this is why jousting helms are so heavy... and strapped down. I have taken a few really hard hits jousting, and many ricochet into my face. Thankfully, I...

Fun with hematomas

Share your hematoma stories. I got tossed into a fence and have a well-defined hematoma on the inside of my calf. Doctors say they can't drain it (intramuscular?), but it's causing me enormous pain—can't even stand up, let alone train, and am flat on my back with my leg up.

How long does this last?

Re: Newbie: How do I start jousting

1. Learn to ride. 2. Learn to ride well. 3. No. Really. Learn to ride well. You will have to spend money (or labor) on lessons. 4. Spend good money on good armor. Bad armor in SCA combat will bruise or cut you. Bad armor in jousting will cripple you. 5. Meet jousters in your area. If not possible, t...

Re: 14th C visored bascinet w/liner and aventail for sale. $

I'd encourage you to make a suspension liner to see if it fits. Much easier to get a small head in a big hat than the other way around, and the less contact, the less concussion.

Johann Georg Pascha/Paschen. Lots of fundamental mechanics.

A study of modern French bâton would also be helpful for mechanics.

The jack would probably fit you. Bob is smaller than me, and it fit him.

No idea what sort of leather on the gloves...

It's just cloth (it's a jack, not a brigandine). It fits *me* great, but you're bigger than I am. I'd say it'd fit someone my size or a little bigger.

Irish: I want to say large. How big are you?

Cailen: Unless you're built differently from how I think you're built, it's probably going to be a bit tight on you.
