I missed the exibition, but found a used copy of the book on ebay for under 20 dollars delivered! Lower prices , I'd take $1900 for the 16th cent composite sword, $500 on the Klingenthal sword, $300 on the early 15th vambrace, and 80 on the Incunabula pages. Message me here on the board, and I'll give paypal details.
This is by going through paypal and avoiding ebay. Thanks!

I did a quick google search, and found a few Greenwich helmets with very similar overall form, similar piercings for the breaths and similar visor pivots. Hey Adair, I sent you a couple of pics. On my notes I have written " Copy of a close helmet in the Royal Armouries at Leeds. The original Made at Greenwich by German Armourers" I'm not sure if thats 100% correct? I did try to research it at the time I bought mine.

I have an example on a stand exactly like yours. I've seen them turn up on rare occasion. I saw one used as a presentation piece in the automotive industry in Detroit dated from the early 70's. I believe these were made for a museum gift shop in the 60's. It might have been for the tower of London? ...

Feel free to make offers on any of the items through PM. I can make a much better deal on prices if we don't go through ebay. Also you can save on sales tax! I'd really like to get $2250 on the 16th cent composite sword, $700 on the Klingenthal sword. $350 on the vambrace. $110 on the pair of framed...

Hey John, I Haven't sold the spear yet, and didn't list it on ebay yet. I did notice it has a very slight bend in the blade visible from the side. Might be a forging defect as the steel is hard as hell. I could send you pics if interested. I could do $175 shipping included. LMK.

I cant remember how much shipping was, but it wasn't to bad. I think its was about $35-45 for the two poles. Re: Miniature Armoured figures, Anyone know who made these?
A little update, I did a web search and Peter Dale LTD is still in business. ( A surprise for me, I didn't know) I first heard about them in the 80's but assumed Peter had passed and that they were out of business by now. Robin Dale (Peters son? daughter?) told me they bought ALL the figures he made...

Mystery solved! I stumbled across this, the figures were made by a fellow named Roy Gregory of the UK, no longer with us. https://www.qmsmilitaria.com/shop.php?c=39#prettyPhoto Scroll down to the gothic knight on horse if interested. The armour was made from aluminum. The figures clay. Interesting r...

Miniature Armoured figures, Anyone know who made these?
Does anyone know who made these miniature Armoured figures sold at Czernys last November? Lots 340-343? They say they are English, last quarter of the 20th century. I dont think it was Nigel Carren. https://www.czernys.com/asta-116/?c=13 The Greaves and sollerets on the jousting figures look to be c...

Thanks Mac! It looks like the ISSUU paper has the "meat" , I need to subscribe to read the full paper. Hmmmm.... After reading the full paper, do you think there may have been an actual armourer working with the sculptors and casters? I suppose its not an unreasonable thought.

Re: Armour of the Black prince
Interesting article, but I seriously doubt the ones who cast and assembled the effigy were armourers. While it is very detailed, I think thats due more to the sculptors having access to the real thing. While very interesting, You cant tell how the armour was assembled by looking at the interior. You...

The example in the last photo does look like it might have been done with a chisel. All the rest look like they were done with some type of a wheel. I'd love to know what type of setup they had. Must have been a foot operated treadle. It would take a steady hand. Thanks for sharing the pictures!
