Need cut/strapping on a breast
Hello, some time ago I acquired a suede covered breast/fauld that I was told is slightly work-hardened but otherwise untreated 16 ga spring. I need the arm holes cut a little deeper, ideally preserving the covering material and re-riveting it, and add X-straps so it can be worn over a gambeson with ...

Ahem. I've been inactive for quite some time. However, I must say that it is a great pleasure to see your work shared generously with the community, Mac.

Lutrell Psalter LH vid and original online
A living history group in England used The Lutrell Psalter as inspiration to make a movie recently. Check it out! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O0AnUM1tt54 Some assorted interviews with the group; http://wn.com/Luttrell_Psalter Also, the British Library has digitized and made some of the original a...

Cliff, These are also at a basically flat angle where as an incline of only 15 degrees increases the impact of the springald from 1782 to 2120j! The same would be true to a certain degree of standard crossbows. RPM That certainly makes sense. An incline makes the projectile form a bigger parabolic ...

Interested in Viking shields
Hello, I'm interested in finding reputable craftsmen for viking round shields. My roommate is from Norway and wants to decorate our entertainment room. We're looking for a) good looks but simple construction (i.e., not for combat) or b) maybe a step below living history quality and good for combat. ...

Hi cisco, I don't have an answer to your question (hopefully someone else does) but where did you get the image? It looks like part of (or the beginning of) a great reference on shields. If you made image on your own, I think you should really consider doing a little reference guide for general time...

Good stuff Teague! That first one we might call "yield in the bind and hip throw" in technical jargon. Love the hand trucken (sp?)with the level-change from the bind. The de-cap looks great too, Talhoffer is probably smiling. Still waiting to see what a Schnitzelhau looks like, once someone is willi...

It's the sewing that is f-ing me up. Piercing the leather, or pulling the needle through? I hope you're using something like an awl or a drill or something to pierce the leather first. Perhaps someone on here could recommend some different way to do your process that would cut out a lot of the pain...

OT- urethane?
Anyone on the board have connections with urethane manufacture, or anyone connected with soft gel manufacture like Dr. Scholl's insoles? I'm trying to design something for a small niche market, and need some help finding the right people to help build some prototypes. If you've got some knowledge of...
