One thing that has bothered me in the past is weapon/shield limitations that are a blanket size. For one, it makes the fighters possibly have to make a new weapon or new shield just for that crown because they use a shield X by Y sized, but the crown list limits to A by B sized shields, where A=X-2"...

Had a friend that moved to Texas that years ago made a coat of plates from the metal plates that go on gas pumps I believe? They were scrap/leftover at his work.

Held up for years, and with pockets the plates sat in, he could easily remove plates to actually wash his armour.
