Re: The strongest Viking

I got curious and went looking.... Guinness Book of Records[edit] The Guinness Book of World Records (1985 edition) lists his feat of lifting 6,270 pounds (2844.02 kg) in a back lift as "the greatest weight ever raised by a human being". http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/f/f9/Paul_Ander...

No that would be an uneducated guess. As Bob points out even in houses you rarely find any sort of evidence of wood being put on the ground. We really take for granted how much work it takes to make wooden boards. Even with a small gas powered saw mill you are still talking a couple hours of work f...

An educated guess would be that it was present, especially when they camped for a longer period, i.e. over winter. But it would be nice with proof, written or pictorial.

I have searched through google but not found anything, yet

Platform/wooden floor for tents?

From a movie I got the idée for an elaborated floor/platform for my tent. But I would like if there were any possibility for it to be historical accurate. So, is there anyone here that has seen any proof of it to have existed within the SCA timeperiod?

Today, average height in American men is about 5 feet 9 inches and in American women 5 feet 4 inches. According to a study completed in 2002 (see the article by John Carvel at the Guardian), Britons have similar average heights, while most Europeans are an inch or two shorter. The exception is the ...

It's delicious. We eat it with boild potato, raw onion, tomato, white hard bread with Västerbottens-cheese, and some beer and snaps.

I just love it!

It's not rotten it's fermented. Here at the northen part of Sweden we eat Baltic (small) herring that is made like that. You can ferment a lot of difrent food.
